Student Life Internship Program

High‑Impact, Project‑Based Internships for Student Life Departments

The Student Life Internship Program (SLIP) offers a new model for high‑impact, project‑based, paid internships that help departments advance meaningful initiatives while supporting student career development. SLIP interns work on clearly scoped projects, receive structured coaching, and produce tangible deliverables that strengthen both departmental priorities and student learning.

SLIP is designed to create intentional, career‑aligned experiences that build student skills, expand supervisor capacity, and contribute to institutional goals around retention and student success.

Why Host a SLIP Intern?

SLIP provides Student Life departments with a structured way to bring student talent into meaningful work.

Hosting an intern can help your team:

  • Focus on a project your department may not currently have capacity to tackle

  • Elevate or expand an existing program

  • Gain support on clearly scoped, high‑impact initiatives

  • Strengthen supervisor coaching and mentoring skills

  • Contribute to university‑wide goals around student success and workforce readiness

  • Engage motivated student talent eager to build professional experience
