All workshops for autumn semester are offered virtually and open to Ohio State undergraduates, graduate, professional and post-doctoral students. All workshops are available via the events feature in Handshake.

Resume Writing Workshop

Your resume is often your first chance to make a positive impression on a prospective employer. Whether this is your first time writing a resume, or you are looking for tips to update and tailor your resume for a new opportunity, this workshop will provide you with relevant and practical information. Join us to learn more about what to include on your resume, how to format it and how to make it stand out.


Virtual Drop-In Resume Reviews

Make sure your resume is career fair ready! Stop by to receive feedback from a career services staff member. These virtual drop-ins are on a first come, first serve basis allowing you 15 to 30 minutes with a career coach.


Career Fair Prep

This fast-paced, interactive session helps you walk into any career fair with confidence. We’ll break down what actually happens at a fair, how to prepare your resume and introduction, what employers are looking for, and how to make a strong impression in just a few minutes. You’ll leave with practical tips, sample questions to ask, and a clear strategy for making the most of your next career fair.


How to Talk with Employers at a Career Fair

This interactive session will help you confidently engage with employers at any career fair. Learn how to introduce yourself, start meaningful conversations, highlight your strengths and make a lasting impression.

Professional networking can be an overwhelming process. This interactive workshop provides practical strategies for building meaningful professional connections. Explore networking through informational interviews, career fairs, professional associations and more.


Interviewing Strategies

Our interview skills workshop is designed to help you prepare for job or graduate school interviews. This workshop covers what to do before, during and after an interview. We provide techniques and strategies for preparing for interviews, answering interview questions and behaving confidently and professionally during your interview.


Handshake and Job Search Strategies

Do you want to connect with employers, research job and internship opportunities, and even chat with other students who have already had your dream job or internship? Every Ohio State student can explore job and internship opportunities through Handshake. You will learn how to make the most out of Handshake to find a part time job, internship or full-time job. 


Transferable Skills

This workshop helps you identify the transferable strengths you’re already developing and shows you how to talk about them confidently in interviews, resumes and grad school applications.


LinkedIn and Job Search Strategies

Learn how to use LinkedIn to build your network, connect with Ohio State alumni, explore career paths and find internships and jobs. This interactive workshop will help you create a strong profile that showcases your skills and professional identity.


Your Future-Ready Career: Developing Competencies for the Evolving World of Work

This workshop will highlight future-ready career competencies as essential tools for navigating the future of work - presently being shaped by rapid technological innovation, globalization and changing workforce expectations. You will examine how competencies align with trends including automation and AI integration, remote and hybrid work, lifelong learning and adaptive leadership.


Your First Offer: How to Negotiate Salary and Benefits

Landing your first job offer is an exciting milestone, but it’s also your first real opportunity to advocate for yourself professionally. This workshop is designed specifically for undergraduate students who are preparing to enter the workforce and want to feel confident navigating compensation conversations. You’ll learn how to approach negotiations strategically, communicate your value clearly and evaluate the full offer package, not just the base salary.

Building a Faculty-Ready CV (Graduate, Professional, PhD and PostDocs)
